On Sunday 23rd of July 2023, members of civil society under the Uchaguzi Platform released a joint press statement over the recent civil unrest and intensified demonstrations over the unbearable cost of living.

The issues addressed by the presser included; Respect for fundamental rights, Reconstitution of the electoral body, the cost of living and repeal of Finance Act 2023, call for National Inclusive Dialogue and revival of multi-sectoral talks and respect for media freedoms and responsible use of Media platforms.
