KESSULO and ELGIA are on a Joint Mission in South Sudan to support the country’s democratic and electoral processes
From October 20 to 24, 2024, the East African Community, the Kenya South Sudan Liaison Office (KESSULO), and ELGIA are on a Joint Mission in South Sudan to support the country’s democratic and electoral processes. Today, we had the honor of meeting with Hon. Chan Reec Madut, the Chief Justice of South Sudan, and Deputy Chief Justice Hon. Dr. John Gawech Lul in his chambers.
ELGIA is committed to providing technical assistance to the South Sudanese judiciary, particularly in the areas of electoral dispute resolution and access to justice programs. Additionally, we are working to establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to bolster democratic and electoral reforms, including a scheduled meeting with IGAD in Juba.
