The Electoral Law and Governance Institute for Africa (ELGIA) participated in a peer learning and exchange exercise with Kenyan Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) engaged in the democracy and governance sector. This collaborative session was held in Nairobi on November 5, 2024, during a three-day visit by a high-level delegation from Mozambique. The Mozambican delegation sought to draw insights from Kenya’s democratic advancements, especially in the context of electoral processes and governance frameworks, as their country continues to navigate the final stages of announcing results from its recent, highly contested general elections conducted in October.
This initiative, facilitated by The Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy, provided a platform for in-depth discussions, knowledge transfer, and mutual learning underscoring ELGIA’s commitment to fostering regional cooperation and reinforcing the pillars of democracy across Africa.
