ELGIA in partnership with the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT)

ELGIA in partnership with the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) is currently having an internal consultative meeting at Crown Plaza Hotel Nairobi. The Meeting is funded by UKAID under the Deepening Democracy Program. The strategic direction workshop was convened in a bid to unpack PPDT'S Strategic Plan & distill it further into an action plan that will act as the guiding tool throughout the electoral cycle.

Notable, is the critical need for PPDT to lobby the Judiciary towards the establishment of a board & Secretariat to manage the governance of the institution towards the execution of its mandate. PPDT notes that the non-decentralization of it's services, is an unfortunate reality that impedes access to Justice for those in mashinani.

Present at the meeting is ELGIA's Executive Director Mr. Felix Odhiambo, The PPDT Chairperson Ms. Desma Nungo, The PPDT CEO Hon. Rosalyn Aganyo.

The meeting will be concluded tomorrow, the 13th of February with a ratified Action Plan as the key output. Cc DFID - UK Department for International Development
